Community of Artists for Equity Our acronym, CAFÉ, was chosen as an historical homage to the Café Guerbois where many notable Impressionist artists met to discuss the artistic and financial concerns of their day to day lives.  The word "Community" reflects the desire of our members to treat their fellow artists and festival committee members with cooperation and mutual respect as we work to achieve our goals.

Some favorite artists!

http://rpart.net/RP_Art/Welcome.html  The work you will see here is the creation of two artists - Pamela Neil and Randy Rich.

The media are acrylic panels and oil paints, and the tools used are grinders and brushes. Most works have elements that are hand carved into the reverse of the panel, and are then reverse painted, resulting in truly unique and striking objets d’art.

http://carvedart.net/Carved_Art/Welcome_CA.html Works from Inside Design by Randy Rich

The material is solid acrylic using a technique called internal carving, referred to as reverse carving or intaglio. Using a hand held die grinder (22,000 RPM) and a variety of drills, bits, and burrs, the images you see are carved directly into the back or bottom of the piece. Holding the acrylic in one hand, the grinder is maneuvered with the other to make deep undercuts and delicate details that result in a three dimensional image that will pick up light and create shadow. The designs with color have been painted by hand, in reverse, using enamel paints and small but valiant brushes - sometimes being coaxed into relatively deep crevices.

GET FIRED UP!

Each piece of LeSueur pottery is handmade on the wheel or by slab construction.  Functional pieces have been carefully designed to be a pleasure to use and display. Mugs feel good in the hand. Handles are the right size and comfortable. Trays and platters are a delight to serve on. Casseroles and baking pieces fit standard recipes. The freedom of the glazing technique makes each piece vibrant and different.
